Nigeria currently imports every vaccine it uses, yet it has the political will, the regulatory foundations, and the scientific talent to change that. However, the country's path to self-sufficiency is far from straightforward, with cold chain failures, overlapping regulatory responsibilities, and a workforce that still needs to be built from the ground up. Our own Lee Smith, alongside researcher Oyeronke Oyebanji, shared their insights with BioProcess International on what it will truly take to get vaccines manufactured and delivered at scale.
